While in Uganda volunteering as part of a global team caring for orphaned and abandoned babies in Kampala, I had the opportunity to also visit Gulu in Northern Uganda which is recovering from the atrocities of a rebel war. We visited the Watoto children’s village, babies home and their ‘Living Hope’ project in the far north. This NGO cares for the escapees and returnees of a rebel war, the vulnerable women, girls and child soldiers who have been abducted into a rebel army. The women and children are rehabilitated in a loving, caring and nurturing environment. I could not help but be inspired by the stories of hope offered at Watoto. Lives are radically being transformed. I highly recommend the global team experience. For further information about Watoto click here.
